Cottonwood Scholé
A Homeschool Collaborative in Gypsum, Colorado
Who we Are
A group of homeschool families collaborating to educate our children in the Christian Classical Tradition
Families who are focused on Christ-Centered Community and an education guided by Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
Families who desire to promote the individual progress and academic success of each student in our community.
Families who recognize that students need a balance of disciplined mental exercise, physical exercise, rest, relationship, nourishing food, and community to flourish in their education and in their lives
What we are Doing
We are providing students with a safe environment to learn and grow by protecting and defending the innocence and wonder of childhood while preparing them for academic excellence and the highest levels of human achievement.
We are building a culture that immerses students in the most beautiful, inspirational, and truth-filled stories, ideas, and arts that we, as teachers, parents, and mentors have at our disposal.
We are teaching in the context of the one room school-house model of education coupled with a mastery-based course of study. This allows students to move forward as they are prepared to do so whether that is more quickly or more slowly than the average defined by grade levels.
We are encouraging self-discipline and true scholarship.
We seek to guide students to truly love learning.
We are leading by example as we grow in knowledge and understanding together.
We are focused on the foundational studies that prepare students for all future academic pursuits.
We are seeking first the Kingdom of God with the understanding that all other necessary things will be added as we focus on the one thing that is needful - to sit at the feet Jesus, the author of meaning, knowledge, understanding, and truth.
Philippians 4:8-9
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, meditate on these things.
